Is Anime age important?

Post by HurQlez03 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 6:03 pm

Hear this. People around here like the NGE girls (primarily Rei and Asuka). But suppose people who aren't anime fans know that these girls are only 14 years old and call us sick perverts. Do we just simply throw away the age factor because they are anime girls. I mean does it really matter how old they are?

I don't really care, my two favorite anime characters are both 14, Asuka and Lain. Personally, if a person misunderstands this, then they have no opinion, considering that they have never seen anime, or given it a chance.

So um, what's wrong with liking fictional characters in the first place, so long as we realize they're fictional?

I don't see a problem here, honestly

Besides, even in real life, so long as that has no actual consequences, I don't believe there's anything wrong with thinking that an apparently-underage girl happens to be attractive. Geh, I think that all the time! (only to quickly and appropriately realize she's not 'legal'. Gah, the world is a cruel place! :P )
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Well, I'm 16... and I'd say Rei & Asuka don't look very young.

But even regardless of that, why the heck would I care if someone things I'm sick for liking Rei? So yeah, I guess I'd just "throw away the age factor."

I was thinking something similar. Characters in anime, especially young ones, rarely appear their supposed ages.

Could probably muster something of relevance to say but screw it.
Since when does the age factor matter?
It shouldn't matter unless we're talking about crossing some "boundaries" in a sexual kind of way and that's in the real world. Plus it’s a society thing to begin with.
Don't think the anime police will arrest you for thinking underage girls (who aren't real) are cute, sexy or whatever. :?
What would you be? A virtual anime pedophile ?
The premise of it all is just vacuous prattle, to be concise.
Just the type of crap anime otaku has to deal with sometimes.
What happens if the characters are young and you're in their age group or younger or even over 20 years older (in real time)? Zip. Nada. The proverbial goose egg.
All this just to say the age factor like the dirt sludge means nothing at all.
Some lines shouldn't be blurred because it makes no sense to...

You wanna know how old they are? check the ink to see if it's still wet. The thought of the lot of you jerking off to apparently 14 year old girls (or younger) makes me wanna mass slaughter the lot of you, but the thought that you're really just jerking the willy pink over a collection of ink and cel paint allows me to sleep comfortably.

You guys are such simpletons to wonder if it's 'all right' not to spring wood over a kid, but in fact a cartoon representation of a kid.

Think about it: You wouldn't complain if it was something you enjoyed. If it wasn't something that took the curve out of your noodle, you'd ignore it and move on. But when you feel guilty, well then! Then it's time to trot over to the computer and beg supplication and acceptance on a message board in the hopes that others will feel the same!

Go, you.
