It's a horrible movie why disney is bringing this piece of crap over here is above me. It is susposed to be for 10 year old girls. I wouldn't let a 10 year old girl 100 feet from the tape. The little girl plays with a shit monster!!! No lie. This stuff might make sense to japs it's part of thier culture that I don't understand and don't want to. Miyazaki is a hippy wierdo when it comes down to it. I like half of his movies. The other half are all eco nut wierdo movies. Why don't they just dub and release Laputa in theartres it's by far his best.

It's supposed to be for 10 year old girls because what? Disney is releasing it? Or maybe it is for 10 year girls of Jap... and your just mentally behind and thus can't comprehend the meaning the film presents. And whats wrong with a Shit monster? Just because he/she/its full of shit it must be seperated from Society? And Shit Monsters have made appearces in movies before... Dogma by Kevin Smith comes to mind. By releasing other people's work, Disney would be for the first time in many years be releasing some quality movies to the masses. Justincridible-You lost me for a moment I don't particulary like disney movies either but I stand my ground on this Spirited away is a dumb ass movie. I don't have any problems with shit monsters so to speak it just shows how wierd this movie is. As for aiming at 10 year old girls that is what miyazaki intended it for he said so himself. He has other movies way better that could be dubbed and released by disney.

Actually, the fact that Spirited Away is intended for 10-year-old girls is actually one of the major reasons why Disney is releasing Spirited Away. I have yet to see the movie, but even though I am not a ten year old, nor a girl, I still really want to see it simply because no Miyazaki movie made to date has failed to reach a larger audience than it's target. I mean, sure, "My Neighbor Totoro" is intended for young children, it is still a very well-made classic that reaches out to everybody. If you are trying to say that Miyazaki shouldn't be making kids films, then you've really got things backwards, because nothing he has ever made before has been anywhere near as mature as "Princess Mononoke".
Nontheless, I agree that there are better Miyazaki films that Disney should take up, like "Nausicaa". Even so, you should be greatful that Disney is releasing something. After all, Spirited Away is the highest grossing Japanese film of all time, whether it is for ten-year old girls or not.
