How "Adult Swim" Became Famous

Cartoon Net Lures Hip Viewers
Talking meatballs and bumbling sea explorers may have made the Cartoon Network's late-night cartoon lineup a monster hit among the young and hip. But some of its popularity is owed to a trendy corps of college students enlisted to market the network's "Adult Swim" cartoons on campuses nationwide....

Their job: Making cartoons cool for peers who likely had ignored them since elementary school and probably associated Cartoon Network with baby-sitting, not TV nights at the frat house....

Cartoon Network executives say the college marketing program, mostly made up of sponsored drinking parties at hot college bars, had a significant hand in creating buzz for the quirky, sometimes hilariously absurd, block of cartoons....

Odd...

Well whatever they want to do, I don't care. As long as I enjoy it, I'll be glad it's there.

Although I wish Sealab was taken away for good, and I'll be dissapointed if Detective Conan ever goes.

:? Yeah, I'd read that before.
Scary thought that's the way they promote Adult Swim but it's economic and reliable from a business perspective.
Nevertheless the strange thing is that anime is no where to be found in the article.
 No mention, nothing, which is queer since it was in Adult Swim that the more "mature" anime got played or the anime that had been moved from the Toonami lineup.
A fairly odd occurrence I should say, then again I haven't watched Adult Swim or CN in general for a long time.

But what do I care...

Yeah, last night's episode was hillarious with the HDTV that could blow up asteriods and the people in the space station kept flashing people and having their head blow up lol.

Great Show, too bad the guy who voiced the captain died...

I'll have to respectfully disagree here. I love ATHF, but Sealab is just freaking annoying. The animation, the dialouge, what happens, the characters, the voices... it's just not my style in the least. There are a couple of good jokes, but they are crushed by the overall aura of the show.

ATHF is a great show, I also dont like sealab that much, cuz it aint all that good, your right when you said that their are only a few good parts, but it just aint good enough. In ATHF I think master shake is the funniest, cuz he is alwys trying to scare the heck out of meatwad and in one the episoids he kills himself to go into a video game just so he can scare meatwad, so very funnny.
If the army or navy ever looks upon heavens scenes, they would see that the streets are guarded by the United States Marines.

you figure that sense it is on at midnight that they might be able to run unedited versions of the anime we love?
