Sell me on "The Soultaker"

very simple concept: i've never seen this particular anime outside of the one AMV i've seen.

I want to know what it's about/like without spoilers...

so go ahead, if you would, tell me what makes it good/bad/etc....

I'll be blunt. It has THE WORST opening song ever (second worst opening song is the one in Scrapped Princess)!

As for the synopsis, it about a guy named Kysosuke Date who suddenly got killed adn buried by his own mother, and then he got dug up by a girl. That girl is supposedly Date's "sister." Also, he discovered he can transform into a mutant called the Soul Taker. So throughout the 13-episode series, he tries to figure out why he could transform, why did his mother kill him, and where he could find his sister.

When I saw this series in TechTV, all I have to say is it's VERY eye-candy. Heck, I believe it's one of the best eye-candy series I've seen in a long time (plus Komugi is there

). Unfortunetely, their attempts of trying to be mindbusting like Lain or even Evangelion is pretty laughable and almost cliched (heck, how many times do I have to see tombstones and churches blow up

). I say, watch it for the pretty pictures and Komugi.

The opening for SoulTaker is that song that goes "SoooooulTAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!111one!!" right? I love that song!

Never seen the show though, always the last DVD on the list of DVDs to buy for me.

As far as on-topic, I've heard the series is as trippy as AMVs make it look, and that it's definately chock-full-o-eye-candy. It's definately somewhere on my list of stuff to look at.

I've seen some of Soultaker and I have to say its eh ok.I got bored ot much watching i mean it looks like somethings cool is going to happen then nothing does.I can't even rmeber anyones name anymore.

not really, importing from Australia makes it really cheap:

Kenshin: box set 1: £40.15,
box set 2: £40.71,
box set 3: is it even out yet?

Eva: box set: £54.44

X (tv): full series: £60.03

The Soultaker: box set: £26.53

Grand total: £221.86

all plus p&p, but of course i wont be ordering that all at once that would be stupid...

......how can i watch that much anime all together?

Well one night when i had nothing to day i watched 1-6 dvds Rahxephon from like 4 to 10 am i wa sonly gonna watch one or two set but i got so into it i kept watching untill the episodes ran out.

more than that if your talkin the entire Evangelion series and all of the Kenshin TV series as well
it would be more around $700
