X/1999, Kamui, connections to "The Sephiroth"

I remember watching an episode of X the series and remembered it mention The Sephiroth, not the FFVII character, but the term the character is taken from.

Does anyone know of the relationship between Kamui and the Sephiroth?

Oh, I remember that episode. It's the episode that talks about how Satsuki merged with her computer. If I remember correctely, a bunch of scientists said that Satsuki was able to memorize the parts of Sephiroth. I don't know what Sephiroth really is though (I assumed it's something ancient and religious).

There is a very old idea involved here, I think. Specifically, that by knowing something completely you can become one with it and/or control it.

I believe the Sepiroth was also referred to in the ending of Neon Genesis Evangelion... they're supposed to be a set of Angels or something?? or steps that hold up the tree of life or something like that... something in classic Kabbalah...Hebrew religious cult or summat.

more the hebrew bible;; the kabbalah or the tree of life;; in eva it was where the humans ate from the tree of wisdom and the angels were given the tree of life; the tree of life shows the steps to become god and the 22(?) paths;; kamui in a sense was becoming god;; but im realli not sure it had much to do with the kabblah;; i only remember the one instance with Satsuki doing something with it or memorizing it

I also remember Satsuki saying that Kamui was something, I forgot what the term was. She pretty much wondered if he was a being so powerful that it surpasses God.
