Final Fantasy vii Anime???

who agrees that fianl fantasy vii should of been made into an anime and not an CG Movie. the whole point of final fantasy was that it was an anime. If any final fantasy should be a CG movie it should be viii (8) that was ment to be. anyways i wanna hear what you think

This is the first I've ever heard on this kind of claim...any proof to back it?

As to the opinion...I dunno, personally, part of me always felt that making a direct sequel to an FF story kind of cheapens the whole point of the franchise (that 'Final' in the title isn't just for show ya know)
The reason they were able to get away with that title was because each FF title was a self-contained storyline...there were no follow-ups, there was that main story which the games concluded...however lately between FFX-2 and the FFVII movie well...

I dunno...maybe I'm just being stubborn here...

I don’t think so. I personally refuse to buy the game because its a follow up of a previous one, I’ve been told hundreds of times how good it is and that I should try it. But I goes against everything all the other games I love stand for, plus after FFVII I think the franchise went to shit.

when the hell did that happen???? last time i check theyre suppost to bve a game, by no means anime.

a followup isnt really acurate, each of the final fantasy games are a story in itself
the only real followup game is FFX2 , which personally i think sucked
but FFVII ruled all, one of the best parts of the entire game was that last scene between Cloud and Sepheroth

Whether CG or drawn it is still an anime...so yea it doesn't really matter.
It depends on style of the animation.
Both FF VIII and FF VII can be a CG movie and a traditional anime and it wouldn't make a difference.
Advent Children is going to rule anyways.

going to keep my expectations low, can never really tell with this type of thing, they speak great things, but have sucked mightily before.

yeah, usually its because they run out of money or time bfor the deadline
just kills all expectations
so just take everything with a grain of salt and you will be pleasantly suprized if it ends up being good

i think FFvii was ment to be an anime. the chibi drawings the characters themselfs. all fit the anime style. viii was like sci fi a lot different more real. but yea i guess there all just games. hope the new movie is good, have doubts.

I don't think you can deny that FF was stylistically influenced by anime, yea, but it isn't an anime per se. There is a huge difference between an RPG and an anime show in terms of how story-telling, character-development and visual elements are delivered - especially since one happens to be 3D here, and the other is (classically defined as) 2D.

Obviosly, the argument of what anime actually is has always been rather... inconclusive.

But I'd say call it a Japanese-made, anime-influenced 3D game and leave it at that
