Tsubasa/Negima the anime?

Post by Moonlight Soldier » Fri Nov 05, 2004 6:54 pm

:o

Disclaimer: If this has already been brought up by Angel or JHU/Lantis Escudo forgive me, but I have been busy recently and not had time to notice.

And let me be the first (?) or I'll take a number to say HELL YES!

And is Negima worth it? I've been mulling over buying it for a while...but the only impression that I can get from it is that 'r-p-g + love hina' vibe.

Discuss.

I was actually considering posting that, but I wanted to wait for someone in the ANN forums to post more concrete information. But all I have to say:

HELL YEA!

Note the fact I got this at some forum of which I forgot.

Hmm, it makes me wonder if there's going to be company discrepencies since there's a quite a number of Japanese companies who contributed in animating most of the CLAMP series (though I'm banking on Madhouse Studios since they animated more of them).

Heh, both of these are manga series a friend of my sister's had recently picked up. I haven't read either one of them, but Tsubasa certainly sound intriging(sp?). Sadly, all I've read/scene from Clamp is Chobit and Wish, though I had seen Cardcaptor Sakura when it was on TV, read one volume of the Clamp School Detectives manga and sene the first volume fo the Magic Knight Rayearth anime.

Atually, that is quite a bit. Maybe I should pick up the manga/see the anime when it's out.
Random Anime Quote:
"They've drawn us awful carelessly." Osaru (I think, it's one of thoes money guys). Jubei-Chan episode 9.

I knew about Negima and xxxHolic, though Tsubasa is news to me. Any word on if it will be a TV series/OVA set/movie?

I'm incredibly curious about voice actors, character designers, and animation studios for Tsubasa as well. Seven different companies have animated past CLAMP works, though most of where the characters have been in the first three volumes are either in MadHouse's stable (the MKR characters being housed at TMS the only major exception, and most of them were also in CLAMP in Wonderland) or haven't been animated before (e.g. Legend of Chan Hyung characters).

I'm really curious about whether they can get the original voice actors to reprise their roles, though that would likely be very difficult (changing agencies, retirement, I think one may have died...).

I would love to have either Kumiko Takahashi (CCS, Tokyo Babylon), Takahiro Komori (Angelic Layer), or Atsuko Ishida (MKR) do the character design, though Yoshinori Kanemori (X TV) or Nobuteru Yuki (X movie) might do well, too.

I'm banking on MadHouse doing this project, since the last CLAMP project that wasn't a MadHouse production was Angelic Layer (BONES, 2001), and before that was CLAMP School Detectives (Studio Pierrot, 1997). Even the CLAMP original series Sweet Valerian is a MadHouse production.

What would make me happiest would be to have the same creative team doing both Tsubasa and the xxxHolic movie, since they're so closely tied together and this would give them the same general feel.

Though there could be a possibility that there's going to be another CLAMP music video of Tsubasa (though it BETTER not be hard to find like Clover  ).

Supposedly, the voice actress who did Sakura's voice in Cardcaptor Sakura is coming out of retirement to play her again in Tsubasa.

Much like every single anime ever (Almost), it's being drawn by an animation studio, not a manga author...
