Anyone know where ya could get some NON Pioneer Trigun DVDs?
Heya all-
Thinking about starting up a Trigun project. I've had the Pioneer boxed set for awhile and, of course, I absolutely love the series. My GOD tho! The footage is horrible to work with - the telecide is screwed up 8 ways from monday, preventing a nice, clean IVTC and on the first 3 discs, there is HORRIBLE rainbowing. just HORRIBLE.
Was just wondering if anyone has ever seen and Trigun DVDs out there that might have a better version of the footage on them? Dont have to be Region 1 and don't even have to be English, as I just want the footage really. Any help would be much appreciated!

You would have to shell out some cash for import DVDs. Not bootleggs, not region free. I'm talking from the original japanese company the made the show in the first place. That is the only suggestion I can give to you. It's the only way you could get non Pioneer DVDs. I too have worked with Trigun footage, but the only really stubborn visual problem I had was the rainbowing. Other than that it didn't give me a problem.

Yea, it's actually very possible to avoid most footage problems - particularly if you use AVISynth filters to your advantage. There's good cleanup, smoothing and de-rainbow filters if you look around.Brolly345 wrote:I too have worked with Trigun footage, but the only really stubborn visual problem I had was the rainbowing. Otherwise, there's little chance of getting better footage besides locating the actual Japanese releases.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

yeah, ive found the region2's on http://www.cdjapan.co.jp - but at 55 bucks a disc.... with no real way to preview them in advance, i could just be buying myself similar quality. for that price, if i knew they were a great improvement, i'd probably pick them up - but otherwise, i think i'll probably just rough it out with these pioneer discs.Castor Troy wrote:I can get the region 2's... I'm not sure how the quality is though,
maybe de-rainbowing is better these days than it was last year
