If you'd like to take it in a more hilarious direction,

Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran

Among other things, it has the best fight scenes evar!
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Champloo comes out on Friday, I think.
Try Peacemaker Kurogane, too (just Peacemaker on the DVDs). That looked pretty entertaining.

Ninja Ressurectoin
Wrath of the Ninja
and a old movie is Cuse of the Undead: Yoma
those are only a few that came to mind, there are probably alot more.

Oh wow, no one should ever watch Ninja Ressurection under any circumstances. I feel that's the worst anime ever made by far. Good ninja/samurai animes: Ninja Scroll TV (ok), Samurai Champloo (ok), Samurai 7 (pretty good), Ninja Scroll movie (one of the best ever). Those are some of the better ninja/samurai anime that I've seen.
See you space cowboy...
Miroku is a king among amine characters
Aliens, are you a peaceful race.
While hell yes, we are barbequing aren't we not.

I have to second that Peacemaker. It's a good series with a nice balance of comedy and drama. It's a coming of age story but it is good. There are some good memorable moments in there as well.

Champloo is already out (came out yesterday). And yes, both of those are quite good.

Samurai Deeper Kyo is pretty good, but not if you're looking for well animated fight scenes. Most of the fight scenes are one-hit kills, until later on when the enemies start getting tougher. :)
Life's short.
