Cowboy Bebop:Too Short?
I just wanna state now that I loved the series itself and the movie. But I just personally thought the series was too short. I mean they could have lengthened it to be atleast 50 episodes.

Just because they could have doesn't mean they should have. I think if Bebop was 50 episodes you'd have people complaining it dragged on There is such thing as 'too much of a good thing'.Ryjin wrote:I just wanna state now that I loved the series itself and the movie. The fact that after 26 episodes you still want more proves that it's a good show. In my opinion there are maybe 3 episodes in Bebop that fall short of being really entertaining, I think the number would skyrocket if the show had run for 2 more seasons (enough to get it over the 50-ep count).

I think it's obvious they would be milking it, perhaps impacting the overall quality.
Granted, let's face it: the majority of the series was episodical in nature, so there's no real reason why they couldn't have kept up the episodicity. I'm sure there was something left to play around with in the Bebop universe.
The other question is, how they would have kept it fresh.
Not that it's really important. I think the vast majority of fans are very happy with what they got, and the wish for more is but an instinctive unwillingness to part with favourite characters. Which is only natural and neccesary.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Its beter to end a series than to screw it up with meaningless filler eppisodes. Filler epps are importang in the begining of an anime because the're used to give the viewer a good feel of the world, characters, etc. Thats why alot of anime dont realy start to tell that larger story till around half way through the series.

Its an average 2 seasons thats used for most anime, if it dragged onto 50 episodes it would likely have become dull and boring. The only series which needs more episodes is hellsing.
