My friends got to see the premier for Appleseed!!! That Bastards!!!
Anyways they gave me a copy of the Appleseed soundtrack, I just listened to it the other day and I was so surprised of how kick ass it was!!!!
It's like a new techno that I've never heard b4, I guess its a collaboration of the japanese music industry and US music industry. Well, It's dope!!
Why not we need more movements like this!! have any of you seen Appleseed or heard the soundtracks of? Is it a good thing or no?

I loved the movie! Yeah, the music is mainly done by Boom Boom Satellites. There are also two tracks by Paul Oakenfold and Basement Jaxx (which are used in like the first 15 minutes of the movie).
I completely resubbed the movie and burnt it back to DVD so I can watch it on my TV. The Japanese DVD didn't have an English subtitle file, so I had to go online and download a horribly subbed subtitle version and fix the subs. This is one that I will definitely buy a copy of when it's released on DVD in the states.

If you're talking about the 2004 version, it's in theaters now. Unfortunately it is dubbed in English, and some of the characters don't quite have that eh... "I'll kill you and still sound cute" ability that the Japanese voices manage to carry.
I Thought that the style that they rendered the whole thing in was odd. I didn't like the fact that they used a different system for the chracters and the backgrounds. It just kept bugging me throughout the whole thing. Would have been much better if they'd done something like what was we saw with Ghost in the Shell 2:Innocence.

Naw... I really didn't like the Innocence method.... 2D characters on 3D backgrounds just doesn't cut it.... the mixing of the two just doesn't cut it for me... same with Titan AE at the time. I loved Appleseed method, 3D characters on 3D backgrounds. Beautiful and blends nicely. I haven't heard the dubbed version, but I wouldn't think the dubbed version would be that bad, but that might just be me. I've noticed dubbing has gotten a lot better in the last couple of years. But maybe that's because I'm not interested in the "cutesy" voices in a serious action movies, and just want something that sounds like the character's voices while moving close to the lip motions.

The movie was good and the dub voices I got adjusted to nicely after 15 minutes passed. I haven't seen the original so I didn't really have anything to compare. Until near the middle of the movie I was a bit lost because I guess I should have read some of the manga but by the end I was satisfied enough with the story. I'd say the last 30 minutes or so really got me caught up. As far as the animation goes I didn't really like it that much. I am more of a 2D fan. If there is CG in it I really don't want to know it was there (like that scene from Utena the movie.) That was my biggest problem with this movie. It was like I was watching Final Fantasy and Jet Set Radio mixed all into one. For the first 10-15 min I was really distracted. It's still worth watching. I wish it would make more money.
