So you want something psychologically mind-fu**ed? I definetely recommend Boogiepop Phantom. The episodes may seem jumbled, but everything will come together at the end (only if you pay close attention to the entire series  ).

Requiem from the Darkness...the story is as mind-f**ed as it is  both realistic and at the same time supernatural the stories mostly deals how the mind works in its most twisted ways

I'd have to recomend Kite as the premiss for the story is kind of messed up, but nothing as bad as Lain or Boogiebop Phantom. Another one with a messed up story is Angel Santuary. Nither of my recomendations has the phicological content that Perfect Blue does.

Ditto BP Phantom

Kino's Journey has a wierd "everything here is normal, but theirs someting strange and discomfourting about it" feel to it.

And off cource, End of Evangelion, for the most f*cked animated experience ever.

If you haven't seen FLCL yet, it's a must--it's not quite so dark though. And if you like books, I highly recommend Mark Danielewski's House of Leaves. It's got a very similar tone to Paranoia Agent. *looks at Maromi plushie on monitor fondly*

If you liked Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent, you'll enjoy Satoshi Kon's other popular works.

DreamWorks came out with Millenium Princess last year. I recommend it, even though the focus is more on drama than action or suspense.

He was also director, and story and screenplay writer, of Tokyo Godfathers, another popular and good anime. :)

Here's Kon's info on Anime News Network:
