Who doesn't like FLCL?
My my, it's been a looooooooooong time since I've been here (forgot all about this forum ) I was just wondering if there is anyone that doesn't like FLCL? I don't hate it, but IMO it is nothing special.

of course some people don't like FLCL. Some people don't like rap, some people don't like rock. I don't see the point of your questionblueshogun96 wrote:My my, it's been a o time since I've been here (forgot all about this forum ) I was just wondering if there is anyone that doesn't like FLCL? Good question.
I think to like FLCL, you have to like similar efforts.
The other big similar effort (comedic send-up of Japanese anime, in FLCL's case GAINAX animation) was Excel Saga. Hauruko and Excel really are similar leads of their series -- both are really wacky and do a lot of "odd" things.
So, logic would say if you didn't like Excel Saga, it's a bet you wouldn't like FLCL.
(I like both of them, btw. )
I also think that, to enjoy FLCL, you have to see more GAINAX. Neon Genesis Evangelion and Otaku No Video are the two that come to mind right away when you need a refresher on GAINAX animation. Once you have that, the in-jokes in FLCL become clearer.

Yeah, FLCL was pretty funny. I haven't seen Excel Saga, yet, but I have the entire series being shipped ot be as I type this. One anime comedy that was even more horrible then FLCL (Which is not all that horrible at all- FLCL rocks!) is SUPER FREAKIN MILK-CHAN!!! The most moronic show in all existance! I would watch Pokemon or Gravitaion (No offense to the yaoi fans) before viewing that plotless piece of crap .
Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

NOBODY DOESN'T LIKE FLCL!!

I'd place it around my #3. Artistically, it's pretty satisfying. And it still has the highest replay value of anime anime I've seen.
On the other hand, this is by no means an anime for everyone, so I most welcome views that hold it lower than I do - as long as it's in a reasonable fashion.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I don't know about that.GloryQuestor wrote:The other big similar effort (comedic send-up of Japanese anime, in FLCL's case GAINAX animation) was Excel Saga. Hauruko and Excel really are similar leads of their series -- both are really wacky and do a lot of "odd" things.

I find FLCL much more artistic and therefore far more interesting than Excel Saga (Which I havn't seen that much of so I might be wrong about it.)
FLCL may appear wacky, but it is actually a very serious show.

I am in total agreeance. I rank FLCL highet than Excel Saga. FLCL is a very serious and thought invoking series. Excel Saga is more off the wall crazyness. I guess the reason i like FLCL more than Excel is because FLCL is just more serious of an anime and that is one of the reasons i like it so much.pen-pen2002 wrote:I don't know about that.GloryQuestor wrote:The other big similar effort (comedic send-up of Japanese anime, in FLCL's case GAINAX animation) was Excel Saga.
