Naruto Licensed

Post by Kai Stromler » Tue Feb 15, 2005 5:32 pm

Just like it says

If true, this is easily the biggest news in fandom of the young year, and it is hard to imagine anything topping it in the rest of 2005.

Ideas on the future course of the property? I'm not certain on anything, but this will probably be the acid test of whether fansubs promote or damage sales. It'll also be interesting to see what groups drop Naruto and what groups keep on, and who gets C&D letters as a result.

It's good that ShoPro/VIZ will get Naurto out in anime and manga, since IMHO they've been doing a fine job in their handling of InuYasha.

well i am just happy that soon naruto headbands wont cost $30 overseas shipping anymore.

A lot of fansub sights are probably crapping in their pants right now.

I think it would be cool if they had Steven Jay Blum(Spike Spiegel) do Kakashi's voice, and Johnny Yong Bosch(Vash the Stampede) would do an awesome Gai IMO. Just can't wait for it to come out.

 If true, then it will take forever to get to episode 122...

Konohagakure? What's up with the "gakura" part? Did I miss something?

Hmmm, isn't ShoPro just a "secondary" licensor and NOT a distributing company (despite the fact it's a sister company of Viz)? That means some other company has to like buy the rights of Naruto from them. Even though most of the ShoPro titles goes to Viz, Sonic X (which is a ShoPro title) went to 4Kids.

But I'm going to bank that Viz got it, and there's a good possibillity that the Ocean Group will dub it.
