Anyone know something about this strange anime/manga?

I happened to come across this website which presents what appear to be characters from some anime or manga. Does anyone know the name of the show/manga that they are from? (Google wasn't of much help.)

The reason I'm curious is that the characters presented are anthropomorphic versions of animals from the Burgess Shale fossil deposit, and creating characters based on these animals seems quite strange to me.

Furthermore, does anyone know what the names of the characters mean:
カリス姫
オパビン
ハベリン
ワプタン

Apparently, the show is called "Cambrian QTS". From what I've gathered, it started as a comic in Megami magazine, was made into a webcomic, and then a PS2 game (possibly a dating sim ?). Now it's being adapted into an anime series. That info's from http://natsumemaya.terminus.net.au/arch ... 6bnews.htm.
As for the names, now that you have the title, maybe you can find a little more info on them. AniDB's got a page for it at http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?s ... e&aid=1770; while there isn't much on it now, there'll probably be more info there as it's released. Anyhow, hope that helps.

I managed to find out what the names mean from by matching their letters with those found here. For anyone interested, the the characters' names are acutally abbreviations of the genus of the animals they are based upon:
カリス姫 = ka-ri-su-Princess (Anomalocaris)
オパビン = o-pa-bi-n (Opabinia)
ハベリン = ha-be-ri-n (Habelia)
ワプタン = wa-pu-ta-n (Waptia)
