Hellsing OVA in the works

Post by Jnzk » Mon Apr 18, 2005 3:58 pm

AnimeOnDVD.com wrote:Geneon Entertainment (USA) is involved in a new Hellsing OVA series. No number of episodes is listed but they're talking 35 minutes per episode and based on actual manga material.
I didn't care much for Hellsing, but I suppose this will please the fans. At least they always claim the manga to be better than the 2001 anime. :P

Sounds reasonable - considering Hellsing did much better abroad than in Japan, it's pretty expected to see an American company getting interested in continuing it.

Now to wait for more concrete news...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

With Geneon USA involved, it'll be a lot harder to find fansubs of this series.

Dough! And after all these months of telling people that there's not ever gonna be any more Hellsing animated! :P

But anyway, this oughtta be pretty cool. I hope they keep the designs of the original anime series, though; the manga's designs are a little harsh on the eyes at times.

From the looks of it, seems like Satelight is doing the animation. Now the animation won't look like absolute crap unlike what Gonzo did. :P

Urgh, While it does surprise me to see it's being made, it doesn't surprise me it's being done in teh US. Bloody fanboys... and girls.

I hope they do this, the manga absolutly wipes the floor with the anime (as all mangas do) please do it properlly, it may be asking too much though.
