Ok so i was talking to this person online and i was asking him about anime and stuff.
In his oppinion anime is like moving manga and manga is still drawings, but Final Fantasy isn't an anime or manga because you can't draw 3D art.
I was convinced that FFs are anime...well sorta but if they were to be put under that catigory then i would be anime
Whats anime really?

FF is not anime.
We just accept FF on our AMV's because FF is cool.
The general idea of anime is everything related to japanese culture. Anime is japanese animation. It dose not have to have manga roots anime can or can not have manga roots. An example of an anime without manga roots is Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Pokemon, etc. They started as animation not as manga. But many of the anime (not all) have manga roots.
FF is not anime because it is a video game.
But it is accepted at the org eventhou it is not anime.

Here's what I have to add to that, shows like Teens Titans, Megas XLR, Avatar, etc... are not anime, even if some of them are as good as most anime (like Megas, Avatar, and even Teen Titans with it's FLCL parody....) the simple reason, is that while they are in the anime style, they aren't Japanese.
And when you get down to it, anime is not an absolute style, It's very likely that the hand drawn stuff will be replaced (for the most part), by anime made completely on computers in the future. And more on style, while some shows have big eyes and go for uber-cute, others are insanely realistic, containing no big eyes, or for that matter anything cartoonish at all.
As for the manga thing, watch FLCL, that has some moving manga, while it's enertaining, moving manga is not anime.

(An-e-may') The Japanese contraction and pronunciation of the English word animation. Anime refers to traditional hand painted cel animation, but also applies to animation created in part or in whole by computers (Such as the 3D digital animation Final Fantasy.) so technically the FF movie is anime.
and the word anime itself is Japanese for animation so according to them Megas and the others are considered anime though there American.

This, obviously, is not the entirety of the defnition we use here.Super Shanko wrote:(An-e-may') The Japanese contraction and pronunciation of the English word animation.
