military academy anime?

Hey all

I'm looking for animes set in a military academy, preferably where the students are assigned to work in teams. Bonus points for romance. (I'm looking for inspiration because I want to write a story like this.)

Somehow there seem to be several animes which involve military academy students while entirely avoiding showing them spending any time in school (They Were 11, Starship Operators, Crest of the Stars). Candidate For Goddess is nominally set in a school, but doesn't really have any classroom or dorm scenes, or the atmosphere of school life.

The Legend Of Blue Wolf does actually have some scenes of military cadets doing training exercises and living in a dorm, but since it's a relatively short OAV it didn't have time to develop the setting much, and it didn't have any classroom scenes (plus, that anime is SCARY! o_O;; )

So, can anyone recommend any military academy animes, please? ^_^

First off, great sig.

Second, you've managed to push one or two of my fanboy buttons, so I'm compelled to answer.

Third, Gunparade March might work. It has teens, them in school, them in combat, and romance. Definately romance. Isn't all that good as a series, since it manages to start as a mecha and end as a standard romance anime, but I think it meets the specs here.

While the training period is brief, there's some soldier training in Now and Then, Here and There (a few basics, sparring and whatnot)
Unfortunately, there's def. no romance here and their training is brief as they're sent out into the field shortly thereafter

Gainax classic called Gubuster comes to mind. Though they mostly just PT together, in robots. Romance, I guess Coach and Kazumi fall in love. That's the instructor and a cadet.

Patlabor actually has some academy scenes. In both the TV and OAVs the SV2 does periodically go back to the academy for refresher training.

I seem to think there is an academy in Jin-Roh.

I don't think Naruto ninja academy is going to work for your idea.

Although the astronaut academy in Twin Spica isn't quite military, it might fit the bill. Haven't seen enough to comment on any romance in it or not.
