Yuri Revolution!

Post by Bardiel13 » Wed May 18, 2005 4:02 pm

This link will take you to the article about a Yuricon convention that took place yesterday. They called it a "Yuri Revolution." Just read it, I can't describe it all. You do know what this means...? As told in the article, thos convention is going to lead to tons of shoujo-ai anime/manga in the future. Our time has come, yuri fansdudes and fangirls! We shall rise above shounen-ai and be (dare I say it) equal in popularity! W00T! :D

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

Gomen nasai, but I don't think that'll be true. >> While I personally don't mind shoujo-ai, there's a shitload of yaoi fangirlism that has been growing quite steadily. I don't think shoujo-ai/yuri will ever be as popular as shonen-ai/yaoi....

I see plenty of shoujo-ai in anime already...it's shonen-ai that I don't see nearly as much of. If you're talking about like fanart/fanfic stuff though, then yeah there's probably more shonen-ai as far as that goes.

But eh, I don't mind shoujo-ai...but I dislike shonen-ai that's almost always made up of pretty boys. I really want a yaoi/shonen ai series where the guys are manly men and aren't girly bishis...oh well.

I hear ya
The only reason I don't consider Gravitation shounen-ai is the fact that "The Pink Haired Guy" (his name to me is like Voldemort to Harry Potter characters >.<) is the sorriest excuse for a human male I have ever seen. HE COLLECTS PINK BUNNIES FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD!!!

Real human males don't fuckin' have pink hair and let one of the most bland characters pretty much rape them almost ev'ry night. I know feminine men- Shuichi is a girl with a penis.

*hates Gravi with passion* Gives shonen-ai a bad name, grrrr.

I think Gravitation is ok for plot purposes or whatever...but for the shonen-ai aspect? Nah...Suichi is bishi to the max. Infact, the first time I ever saw any of Gravitation was when I saw an AMV of it to "Irresistable" by Jessica Simpson, and it had some of those scenes where he's in the schoolgirl uniform and the orange dress, so I said "oh, it's just a tomboy"...but then I later figured out that it was...a boy.

But yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about...that extreme bishiness...ugh.
