That's uh... not quite anime

That said, why am I not surprised? It's just a couple of months ago that someone stabbed a guy to death for stealing some sword online...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Right. Lock time.

EDIT: OK, uh, nevermind. It appears my lack of interest in Lain has come back for revenge - with friends.

I suppose I could have actually mentioned I was noticing the parallel to Serial Experiments Lain, thus saving a bunch of misunderstanding...

Anyway, for lain fans...

Ahhh, I see it now.

I think there's a fine line between just escapism and "The Wired". It appears there's a lot of people crossing into "The Wired" territory nowadays, especially with the massive online games. Which, fortunately, I avoid like the plague

Is this what Lain was trying to warn against? Seems related enough.

I hadn't thought of that, but that's true as well, although, in his case, he was leaving cyberspace...

As far as MMO's go, I'd probably be into them if they were so expensive and they didn't involve just a bunch of aimless wandering around killing various beasts for no apparent reason...I guess I'm too much of a literature buff to enjoy something with no apparent storyline...probably why I didn't like "Morrowind"

True, nobody can say for sure, and it's no stranger than many other ideas brougth forth in times past...

Plus, China's denouncment of religion makes having more accepted views of the afterlife somewhat tricky.

His father also recalled that his son would sometimes stay out for one or two nights, spending all his time playing computer games in Internet bars.
