*sigh* silly boy. DBZ isn't an anime, it's an insult.

I'm pretty sure Ranma 1/2 lasted at least two seasons... hmmm...

My buddy has a lot of HK DVD's of Inu Yasha lying around on the floor. Looks like more than 2 seasons worth to me.
Hunter X Hunter and Yu Yu hakusho might be more than 2 seasons as well.

I'd have to tend to agree with the DBZ comment. The basic story line repeats itself:
1) good guy gets severly beaten...
2) insanely annoying and lame tension is attempted...
3) episode ends...
4) good guy pulls ultra crappy move out his... back pocket...
5) good guy wins

Sorta like how these anti-DBZ posts seem to repeat themselves. Please.. I hate DBZ as much as the next guy, but Im sure everyone seen this 1307120931 times or more.

I've been wondering about that too (the original question about long series, I mean). Most series don't last more than one or two seasons. It's refreshing that they aren't dragged out until they lose all interest (in my general opinion), but they tend to be short by television standards (or, I guess I should say American television standards. Maybe it works differently in Japan, I dunno.)

Doraemon ...uhh or however you spell it. That kid's anime that is about a cat who is afraid of mice. Since it's very popular in Japan, you may have seen his mug on something either at a con or on the internet...he's blue.
I think it has nearly 1000 episodes or more.

Is it me or does it seems like the longer running anime are more child oriented then the shorter. I might have taken to many blows to the head... :o
