Family Anime Movies

Post by Evangelion Unit 01 » Tue Jun 07, 2005 10:30 am

I usually watch series, but I would like to see a movie now, one which is more family oriented and something that I have not seen before. I have seen Princess monoke, Spirited Away, Akira, the Eva movies, vampire Hunter D (1 and 2), Spriggan, escaflowne the movie, cowboy bebop the movie, sin, and Armitage. If you have anyother recommendations other than these that would be great, and please keep in mind it has to be a faimly movie. Thanks!
I SACRIFICE!

Try the other movies by Hayao Miyazaki, like "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Laputa - Castle in the Sky". I haven't seen these myself, but they are very popular.

What about Junkers Come Here? It's directed by Junichi Sato who's known for many shoujo goodness like Princess Tutu and Kaliedo Star though the movie isn't totally shoujo. It has a talking dog though. :D

Some others I would recomend. Metropolis is a a good movie a bit different animation and an interesting old story. Memories is a three anime disc, very interesting stories, Magnetic Rose is my favorite. A new one out from ADV, A Tree of Palm, a good story with a bit of a take off of Pinochio, beautiful artwork, and the anime comes with a pamflet explaining the authors take on the story. Pet Shop of Horrors is a strange and interesting set of four little stories, each a different morality play, good for older children.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I thought Junkers, Come Here was ridiculous. Kids these days would probably have a good laugh at it.

I would recommend Mahou no Stage Fancy Lala except I haven't seen it so I don't know if it's any good. :?
