Giant Robo Volume 3 Skips

Post by narcted » Tue Aug 16, 2005 11:28 pm

Has anyone else out there seen the DVD for Giant Robo #3? I've rented two copies, one from my local store and one from Greencine. They both start and stop. This was one my PC, PS2 and my DVD player. I've so far turned one back in for another rental.

Maybe you got a bad disk, it happens to me all the time. Just take it back, tell them the disk is not working and get your money back or get a new one that has no problems at all.
Or maybe your need to clean your PC, PS2, and DVD player that might work as well.

Mine started doing that during the last episode. I found that if I tapped the rewind button and instantly
hit play it would fix for a bit.

I got the Ginrei Special. By far this has got to be the worst authored disc ever. First two epsodes played fine. (and I want the half hour of my life back) Episode 3 will not play. Tried the rewind thing, that does nothing. Also attempting to play any of the trailers or look at the Ginrei Gallery and I will get directed to one of the scene selection pages. Anime Works/Mediablasters has really dropped the ball on quality control with these discs.

I wonder if maybe your DVD player is on its last legs. I played GR Vol. 3 a couple of nights ago - start to finish, no problems.

I just finished playing ep 3 of the Ginrei Special. I went straight to ep 3 from the select menu and it played without any errors. I also selected each of the trailers and they played, too. So does the gallery.

BTW, I'm using a crappy $30 Oritron player.

It's not just my DVD player. The problem always started on my Playstation 2. So I tried taking it to my DVD player in the living room. Same problems there. Finally played it on my PC. Tried using both Ulead DVD Player and Win DVD and same problems. I sure hope this doesn't mean all three of my devices need replacing. I don't have this problem with any other DVDs.
