Searching for fans of Air?
Sigh, I've been trying to get opinion exchanges on my latest amv from people who've seen Air before, since this amv was made for them. But apparently only three people so far have seen the anime. Air is one of my favourite animes. I know there must be more than three people who've seen Air before. Thus, I'm crossing over to the anime forum to find Air fans, I know you're out there some where. Again, I'm looking for Air fans to opinion my latest amv Air - Angelic Requiem. You can check out the Opinion Exchange forum under the topic title "Seriously, I need opinions from people who've seen Air (1:1)" for the people who responded to my calls.
Oh, warning this amv contains spoilers make sure you've watched the the ENTIRE Air series before viewing (eps 1-12).

Wouldn't this be better in the Opinion exchange forum, or even he AMV announcements...?
Air was an ok show, but there was something a little creepy about those huge ass eyes, and that tiny pinhole mouth.

Yep, I did make multiple posts in the AMV announcement forums and the Opinion Exchange forum, with very few responses, like I said only three people. That's why I've got to expand my search area.
"Huge ass eyes, and that tiny pinhole mouth?" LOL, this is an anime forum. What do you think 99% of anime artstyles are. But the Air series is one of the best looking animes on TV out there. The colours, backgrounds and artstyle used in Air are of the highest quality and must be seen to believe. I can tell you've never seen an episode of Air before.

Giant Eyes from pinhole mouth to bowling ball sized is just plain great...
[watch Kanna in the Air: Summer Specials and you'll know what I mean...]
I would have liked this series had the ending not been FUBAR...

LOL, the ending was perfect, just what I expected it to be. Maybe everyone who is confused about the ending of Air lives too much in a Disney delusional world where there is always a happy ending.OmniStrata wrote:

SPOILERS....
Misuzu broke the curse by keeping her focus of "reaching her goal" and as a result she was reincarnated. Yukito and her mother helped her keep her mind on her goal by providing moral support for Misuzu in that she was not alone. Hence, she was finally freed from the life of pain and remorse, and by keeping her mind on her goal she was granted a new life in which she can now explore new paths that can lead to complete happiness. Of course it's sad how the life she had, had to of ended, but that's because that path of life had already a dead-end built into it due to the curse. Thus, to avoid that dead end she had to fly away from that life/path into a new one. That's my take on the ending of Air.

I don't need to get flamed by someone who enjoys wasting their time watching anime where nothing gets accomplished... LOL, that's your opinion, as I have given you mine. I will not be juvenile an argue with you, they way you seem so content on doing. You didn't like Air fine. You think watching Air is a waste of time even though watching Air influences the thought process of meaning/definition of life, fine. You think nothing got accomplished, fine. But there are some people who see that Air acts on the metaconsciousness and in doing so it accomplishes everything that it set out to. But if you don't see that, that's fine, not everyone likes the same things nor do they think the same way (to each his own).OmniStrata wrote:I don't need to get flamed by someone who enjoys wasting their time watching anime where nothing gets accomplished... I would definitly agree with you that Air is one of the most beutifly animated shows out there now
and if I was able to download your video I'd definitly give you a rating. If you can wait about 6 or 7 more months I should be able to help you out. I just don't have the time to spend 4 hours in the internet cafe. Too much work or gaurd. I would love to here about anything that has to do with Air. I'm even trying to find the games so that I can buy them.

Air was a beautiful series that had a piss-poor ending. The story was one that was well thought out, but poorly executed. I'm all for the sad endings and whatnot, and the movie finalized the series a bit better then the TV series, however, it was still poorly executed. For one, in the TV series, the lead is more or less completely written out of the story by the 8th episode, leaving 4 more episodes to go without him. And yes, Yukito WAS the lead. Without the protagonist, the story quickly dissolved into a poorly written tragedy.
Now then, the movie in fact (despite being a shortened retelling of the series) was much better written, though in the end, it ended on the same poor execution that the series did. Watching it, one can easily predict the outcome. The entire thing became one predictable situation after another, leading ultimately to a poorly executed, and expected end.
On a scale of 10, I'd give the series an 8.5, and it is on my recomended viewing lists.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to Death
Nor known to Life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, unlimited blade works.
