Dvd easter eggs

Post by JenCM18 » Tue Sep 20, 2005 9:40 pm

I wasn't sure where to post this. I've tried searching the web to see if I could find anything.

I was wandering if there are hidden easter eggs on the new seperate release of the Fushigi yuugi dvds where you can get the non-credit opening theme and ending? If anyone knows or ever find out please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also for Angelic Layer as well because the complete collection doesn't have any extras with the non-credit opening or ending. I think it's dumb to have the complete collection not have them , yet the seperate ones do.

From what I've been lead to believe (I don't have a copy yet to actually check), the Fushigi Yuugi rereleases are exactly that: the same DVDs that were in the boxed sets. No changes were made to the content of each disk (except substituting a Geneon logo for the Pioneer one), so if the easter egg wasn't in the original release, it won't be on the new ones, either.

However, IIRC, there was a creditless opening included in the music videos that should be on Disk 8. If not, there most certainly is a creditless opening on Volume 9 of the R2 release.

As for ADV's Complete Collections, they all seem to be "just the show" releases. No extras, which includes the creditless OP/ED. That way, they can fit all the material on fewer disks and get it to you for a very low price (no licensing fees for the extra material). If you really want creditless OP/EDs, you can just pick up any two of the old releases, as the creditless OP used on that disk is on every one, and there were only two endings.

Yep I checked that site there's nothing on them.

Vol 1-4 of the separate Fushigi yuugi they don’t have any extras like the expensive Season 1 box set does.

This is what it says for the additional features on the expensive box set: [got from bestbuy.com]: Contains the First 26 episodes on 4 Dual -Layer discs, that's 650 minutes! Bilingual English & Japanese audio with English subtitles (optional) Includes special interactive menus Interviews with the creator, Yu Watase & production staff Image art gallery Relationship diagram 16 page full color booklet with character information and chapter listings

By reading that says there are interviews from the creator and an image art gallery. There’s none of that on Vol. 1-4 of the separate releases. I’m not sure about the additional features on the 2nd season box set but I just bought Vol. 5-8 today. And nope on Vol. 8 it just has the episodes no extras with the music videos or anything. I do have imports [FX] which suck. On the 3rd disc of the 2nd season it has the music videos, non credit opening and the 2nd non credit ending. But I wouldn’t want to use them because they have bad quality and I can’t even rip them off because the dvds mess up in my dvd-rom u.u;; I got the imports because I really wanted to see all the episodes and I got them because the box sets of them were too expensive for just 4 dvds in each. I’m glad that they re-released them separate but they don’t have the same stuff on them.

But some of the complete collections adv films have released had the non-credit openings and endings of the anime. Rahxephon did but again it actually had all 7 so it was just the same separate dvds but in a thin pack. Angelic Layer separate has 7 dvds the complete collection only has 5 but I still think it should have the non-credit opening and ending. And your right might as well just go buy one of the separate ones to get it. But I hate to buy it and have the same episodes…

That sucks... If you don't mind duplicating your copy, Rightstuf is having a sale on the Seiryuu box set with the music videos for $50 this week (until Thursday) here.

FX? The R2s were nine disks, by Bandai Visual and had no English subtitles or audio. I think you might have a bootleg. You can get the real R2s here for about $38 each (3800 yen each).

Yep, FX is a known bootlegger, with better graphic design than most due to their habit of stealing official box art as well as content. The rotten quality and munged authoring should also have been a strong indicator.

Cool I would buy it if I had the money..... And yes I know the ones I have are bootlegs. And also $38 for each R2 dvd is ridiculous to me. But I understand it's because they are Region 2's and also Fushigi yuugi is or was a popular series so the dvds are still high priced.

Those box sets they released here in th US before the seperate ones came out. $200 for each box set with just 4 dvds that's ridiculous. I never bought them because they are too high just for 4 dvds and plus I didn't have that kind of money few years ago when they were out. And well now I've been buying the seperate ones so why go buy the box sets. lol. I'm hoping maybe when they come out with the OVA of Fushigi yuugi that they might have the extra stuff on them. But I doubt it....
