Is all HK anime bootleg?

Post by overlyused » Sat Nov 05, 2005 3:25 pm

I went to this site with a whole bunch of dvds... They're all "region free" or region one... It's some HK dvd store, with most 1-24 episodes collections for around 30 dollars.

...Does HK usually automatically mean bootleg?
"...What were you guys doing? Sucking tongue or something?"
Psycohol: Hey, how ya feelin'?

Me: I smell biscuits.

If it's region-free/0, then yes. Very few legitimate releases are region-free. Some stores that deal in bootlegs also carry authentic merchandise, but it's more of a gamble in those types of shops. The guidelines in http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=31387 are a good read, should help you to distingush between authentic and bootleg.

My Nausicaa DVD is Hong Kong Region 3, which is legal.

But yeah, read the sticky on how to spot bootlegs. It will answer all of your questions.
