which do you like more and why.

its hard to say. cause to me, it seems us comedy is a little bit more diverse. at least if you mean all us comedy and not just cartoons and shows. i'm sure japan has stand up comics, but the only japanese comedy i've seen has been in its anime, and its almost always goofy, silly, childish humor. i.e. goofy faces, fainting ...etc but in us comedy, you've got goofy comedy like my fav. spongebob :), you've got your parody comedy like southpark, you've got your stand up comedy, which is pretty diverse in itself with greats like chris rock, jerry seinfeld, dennis miller, dennis leary. however goofy comedy always makes me laugh the most and forget my probablems. so i'd say i prefer the japanese comedy.

Anime Comedy doesn't usually revolve around making fun of someone else, which most American Comedy does. The comedy in Anime has more heart too. No, the comedy in American stuff isn't bad. They both are real funny! I just like Anime comedy more! ^_^

What about Canadian humour huh?
Anyways the humour is based around the culture and with Japanese culture being different than US culture as Canadian Culture is different also... then its comedies that the country produces would reflect that.

In the end its a matter of taste

This is really a retarded conversation. Alot of Japanese humor dosen't make any sense while american humor does for the most part. More importantly what some people consider funny others don't. Don't you dare leave out british comedy I prefer it to both alot of times. I have never seen an anime for example as funny as Black adder or for that matter South park the movie

Like Just for Laughs, Royal Canadian Air Farce and the Red Green Show. I love those shows!

Anyways, I prefer anime comedy. Unless it's stand-up comedy like Just for Laughs, then that's when I really hit the floor laughing! I just find anime comedy to be funnier, but easier on those who are fragile. In the newer sitcoms, I find some people get offended at the jokes, which is not funny. :(

dang thats a good question. well its not so simple, anime comedy compared to stand ups it would probably loose but if your talking american movie comedy versus anime comedy. anime no contest, i think the culture gap ads to why anime comedy is really funnny cause they make a joke about sex or lifstyle and stuff like that and because the japanese culture is so diferent some people luahg just because it's the same.

anime is funnny cause for the most part it's either sexual humor or humor about how people are. and sex is funny depending on how you look at it. american comedy is always either arnold swarzinager stuff of small jokes in an action movie or things like south park were the whole thing is devoted to comedy and is just nasty to watch sure it's funny but at times it's disturbing and disgusting at the same time. anotherthing about anime is it streams between comedy and movie. like the city hunter motion picture. it had alot of comedy and it's main goal was that but it had a plot and a conflict and everything else. american comedy is either all comedy or just a very little not so funnny humor.

Well, if you consider laughing at how awful most of their music is, or maybe even just laughing at how funny Ein looks, thats pretty good, but I prefer American comedy, because to me it has more structure.

American for me hands down. if you think that movie comedy isn't worth jack then you should see rat race, space balls, UHF, american comedy comes in all shapes and sizes. And then there is who's line is it anyway, the ultimate improv. comedy show ever. and lets not forget that thsi is simpy american, not live action, there is also the simpsons, south park, family guy, and the man show. can't leave that out.
