manga?

Post by sayain0 » Thu Jan 05, 2006 5:21 am

when it comes to manga and anime ... which one is usually better to follow or that seems better? i like manga better, cause when you read it, you can always make up what colors the characters are wearing, and pronounce the names the way you want to. but when you watch the anime after reading the manga, the colors are different, and the names are pronounced differently, and you just get plain lost.

WOW you didn't die yet?

Anywho while manga is closer to an artists true vision, I prefer the polish and package of anime.

because in a manga there are fewer people between the artist and publishing, a hand ful of editors and copywriters. In Anime you have dozens of peoeple that handle the process and alter the work between the autor and airing. While in the case of manga this make what ever you see a purer version of the artist true work, it also leave the page open for multiple typos, Story problems, lazy days what not. n anime must be scripted out far enough in advance to allow the work to be done. this allows for massive altering of the original sotry but also cleaner art, more timly production and a more coehecive story line.

okie ... i see you point ... and i see how my path in life is going to change ... career wise ... but yea ... anywho ... why can't the animators work with the manga storyliners ... so that they can get the artists vision and make it more following the manga, over losing a few steps, then coming back to the story and making more steps off ... its like a drunk guy walking a straight line ...

The thing about switching any kind of comic version to a video format is the fact that your going to be missing a lot of the story and back story that the original manga artist had planned. This is why a good amount of book readers rarely like the movie versions of books. If they truly added everything movies like Lord of the Rings would have been 5 to 8 hours in length instead of 3. Who would really sit through a 5 hour movie?

As for manga although it might be slightly different and possibly not as in depth as a written novel your still going to have to leave out quite a bit for time reasons. A good example is Fullmetal Alchemist. Although both the manga and anime are very exceptional creations, because of the lack of time and probably money needed to create the full story and every detail the manga had the series does not follow the manga to every point. There is some variance in the manga from the episodes.

As for your original question, I would actually choose to follow both the manga and the anime. I'm currently following the Ah! My Goddess series and anime. There's a few things they didn't add and a few things they did manage to add. I do wish they would of followed the manga more closely but obviously for episode length and spacing they probably couldn't.

that's another thing aboutn the difference between manga's and animes. A manga is a continual story that just goes without any breaks in the plot. Usually one manga leads right to another without having to make any major stopping points in the plot then moving to another. In a anime each episode normally needs to have some kind of major ending that stops the plot and leads onto another. Sure there's the major plot of the series but each episode has an underlieing plot that is followed and finished in each episode.

That's another reason you don't exactly get everything you want.

I think it heavily depends also on what series it is, some work better in manga form, some in anime...

and btw, which dothack series are you talking about, there are so many and they're all different O_o
The very thing that I am trying to prove to not exist is the very thing holding me back...
