21 Best Anime to watch (EDITED OR UNCUT) in ENGLISH!
Everybody knows that many Anime fans will forever hate ENGLISH DUBs just because they can, and constantly rebuke against those who like it and state that the Japanese DUB is better than the Enlgish DUB. In most cases they're right, but their not right all the time. Being a born and raised English speaking person, I find myself in these kinds of desputes when I bring something up Anime Related, and boost with high esteem that I like the English Dub over the Japanese (because let's face it, after a while Japanese dubs begin to sound the same in the characteration of voices).
As for Editing, its never bothered me; some of the things shown in Japanese cartoons I never wanted to see in all my days, but I suppose I saw it for a reason, and editng (if it isn't horriblly done) doesn't bother me at all still to this day. But I do watch things unedited just to catch some things now shown in the English dub. But this isn't what this fourm topic is about. This is just a simple list of Anime I've watched and enjoyed in English Dubs.
1): Dragon Ball Z [Pioneer and FUNImation versions -excluding the redubbed first season and first 3 movies-] (by no means GT. Ugh!)
2): Gundam Wing
3): Sailor Moon (Dic version)
4): Outlaw Star (Edited because the Uncut is just . . . . ishy most of the time. >_<!)
5): Wolf's Rain
6): Digimon (Seaon one and two, the movies centered around these two series)
7): Escaflowne (despite the horrible editing of the first and second episode at the STARTING, FOX-KID's trailer was better than BANDAI's.)
8): R.O.D. THE TV
9): Read Or Die OVA
10): Endless Waltz OVA/MOVIE
11): Full Metal Alchemist
12): Carcaptors (suck it . . .!)
13): Rurouni Kenshin
14): Big O
15): Big O II
16): Blue Submarine No.6
17): Yu-Gi-Oh!
18): Princess Nine
19): Someday's dreamers
20): Gundam 8TH MS TEAM
21): Ronin Warriors

I agree with most of it.. except the outlaw star. When they edit an episode out, that kind of bugs me a lot
I also like these dubs
FLCL
Samurai Champloo
Paranoia agent
and hmm, I would also go with Yu Yu hakusho.

The dubs I will listen to are those in which at least one of the characters talk so fast it's dificult if not imposible to read the corresponding subtitles. Parts of FLCL, Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemi, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (funnier this way too...) just to name the ones i know of...

Well, if this is basically just a thread for good dubs:
-FLCL
-Hellsing
-Now and Then, Here and There (definitely one of the most underrated Eng. dubs out there)
-Lupin III (series)
-Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro (Animaze Dub...Hayter still stands as the best dub VA I've heard for Lupin yet.)
-Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
p.s. "(because let's face it, after a while Japanese dubs begin to sound the same in the characteration of voices)."
To be fair, English dubs can get pretty bad with this also (Hell, half the time I watch some dubs I spend it trying to figure out where else I've heard the VAs...in some cases it's not hard...much as I hate to say it, David Lucas is pretty limited in the number of voices he can do.) Likewise, Brad Swaile's a pretty easy one to spot in just about any role he's played...
It's only inevitable in any voice acting pool that people will all start sounding alike...you can only do so much when all the acting is in the voice.

I love how Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust are missing... infact, these all seem to be dubs you can find on TV.
(I'll give you partial credit on Yu-Gi-Oh! The voice actors were perfect for their roles, but I can't agree that 4Kids didn't completely fuck up a good chunk of the story)
Although I wouldn't say the acting is PERFECT (sometimes bad, even), but Ranma 1/2. Seriously, the comedy is so goddam dry in the Japanese you can't really laugh at it; it's much better with the louder, more over-the-top voice actors in the english dub (and I've heard this from even the most purist, hardcore-sub-whores out there).

Nice list. Some I agree with. Some I don't. Like the Sailor Moon one. While I grew up on the dub and I do love it, it's just not one of the best to recommend to watch. Also with Cardcaptors. I would add Yu Yu Hakusho. I LOVE the English version, both dub and uncut versions. I enjoy both versions, it just depends on what mood I'm in. The Japanese is always good because it's the original and the English can suck or rock depending on who you talk to.W i l l o w wrote: 1): Dragon Ball Z [Pioneer and FUNImation versions -excluding the redubbed first season and first 3 movies-] (by no means GT. Richard Ian Cox as Ranma is just hilarious with how he makes Ranma over-react and get all panicky in a lot of situation. A lot better than Sarah Strange's role in there, in my opinion.EmilLang1000 wrote:Although I wouldn't say the acting is PERFECT (sometimes bad, even), but Ranma 1/2. I agree with the R.O.D. TV dub. I'm especially impressed that the kids really sound like kids because well most if not all were played by kids. That's one pet peeve I have about shows. When the kid is 12/13 they usually don't sound like they are 25 using a slightly high pitched voice. ROD got a great cast of youngin's and they worked their butt off to potray their characters nicely. The rest of the cast was awesome too.
