Anime in the News

It's rare to find an Mass Media article about anime, even in this day and age. This one by Naruto is a good read to pass the times and get a glimspe at what seems to be the view of most adult americans.

you'll need to register, i think, but it's a fairly easy registration, you don't even need to confirm the registration.

That article was pretty well written, I would have liked to see some more references to other Anime on Cartoon Network. Anime is getting out into the mainstream more and more. There still are people out there who deny Anime's influence on American Cartoons. They are the people who are about everything but Anime and then you see them watching one of those Cartoons that are such a blatant Anime rip off but they don't realize it because they live in ignorance, while making fun of the same things they like. It just shows that there still is a sort of stigmata attached to being an Anime Fan

The only anime I own that could be played in front of a kid is Spirited Away and Ah! My Goddess.

I seriously doubt my 8 year old nephew can handle NGE. :D

I let a friend borrow Blood: The Last Vampire. She watched it with her 9 yr old cousin. He had nightmares for days.

lmao, that's funny and terrible at the same time. Ironicly... that's not far from my first experience with anime... (Akira did freak me out a bit at 9 years old...)

I dont know whats up with kids, I saw Vampire Hunter when i ws 9 and came out fine without nightmares, but i do remember on FOX news they were talking about anime and mentioning the adult themes of anime and just barely showed a "lesbian scene" where Ryoko and Ayeka kiss in that space/time special during Universe.
