What manga turned anime didn't tranfer well?
In your opinion, what manga that was later made into an anime didn't tranfer well? and What Manga do you think would make a horrible anime?
In my opinion, Pradise Kiss didn't doesn't work as an anime. The anime just didn't have the same attitude as the manga. and to answer the second question, I think Death Note would make a bad anime.
What do you guys think?

While it started out strong, the later eps of Hellsing (8, 9 and then 11-13, I think...can't remember the later ep's def number I'm thinking of (the one where they finally covered the chapter on how Integra first enlisted Alucard)) just kind of fell flat compared to the manga. Incognito was prettymuch a copout.

Most of the ones I can think of started out well, and then kind of fell flat when they deviated from the manga. Now, I do believe it's possible that an anime can deviate from the manga and still be awesome, but in the cases of anime such as Hellsing and Rurouni Kenshin, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed at the ending.
Oh yes, the same goes for Kare Kano, but that was due to budgeting problems as well.
As for the second question, I wholeheartedly agree that Death Note would fail as an anime. It'd basically be a book on tape, as the characters sit there thinking while their thoughts are narrated. There is very little action or anything in Death Note that would be better animated.

Love Hina
One of the best Romantic Comedy Mangas ever made, and the show has to be one of the WORST adaptations I've ever seen. The show, should you never read the Manga, is okay - about a 6.5/10. However, if you HAVE read the Manga, you realize that only about 5 out of the initial 26 episodes have ANYTHING to do with the original comic, and the characters have been so flattened and sterotyped it's pathetic.
Love Hina is one major reason why I detest most Anime created after 2000, and why I always try to read the Manga before seeing the show now.

While I haven't seen it, from what I've heard about the Negima! anime is that it was a real rush job. And a lot of fanservice was excised. There are rumours that there will be a second season, so maybe that will be better...

From what I've heard, neither Gravitation nor GetBackers' manga forms were particularly good in comparison to the anime, although I'm not sure if their manga forms came first or not. Gravitation is much more random than the anime, and GetBackers adds a lot more fanservice of characters that wouldn't be caught dead doing so in the anime, at least not to the extent in the manga. I also second the comment about Love Hina. While I found the anime amusing (I watched it before I read the manga) the manga was much more in depth and much better.
On another note, the Mai Hime anime, while quite different from the manga, I would give a pretty good review. It keeps mostly the same characters and the general basis of the plot, but due to the rather large overall differences between the anime and the manga, I would end up taking them both as two seperate takes on the same story; they end up too different to really compare.
Finally, the flip side. The Gundam SEED manga while, if you take it on it's own it's tolerable, but if you have seen the anime you will want to stab someone. Of course, excessive compression and plot mutilation is to be expected, I suppose, when one compresses a 50-episode anime into 5 volumes of manga.
