What is your favourit anime series/movie music
For me Noir takes the cake.
I think it's got the best music in ANY anime I've ever seen and they dont just play all the music in the first episode like in all the other anime's..
They reveal the songs as the series goes along and the music itself is AWSOME !!!!
I love noir and it's definately on my top 5 best anime.
Whats your views ????
Cheers vir eers.

In terms of general music that I love down to my very being... believe it or not, it's probably "DragonBall Z" music. It's what I've grown up on over the last many, many years. Give me the first note of any tune from the show, and I can perform it as a one-man band for its entire duration! It's that engraved in my mind.
As for music that I think shows a great deal of integrity, skill, variety, etc... I guess I'll have to be a generic fanboy and go with "Cowboy Bebop." No matter what episode, there's something catchy and well-written.
I also think "Rurouni Kenshin" has some fantastic music (TV series; lots of good stuff in the first season, but Kyoto Arc is my favorite).
Of all time, other than DBZ... I'd probably go with the "Rurouni Kenshin" OVA (first OVA) score. Taku Iwasaki's music REALLY hits an emotional attack on me, and has since my first viewing / listening. It's one of the few anime soundtracks I've purchased (of the many, many, many) that I genuinely hold as a great piece of music.
So, in order:
1) DBZ
2) RK OVA
3) Cowboy Bebop
4) RK TV

Noir definitely has the best soundtrack ever, and it's a great series as well, so I have to say that's the best. I also agree with Escaflowne, Bebop, and Furi Kuri as choices, cuz they all have sweet soundtracks. Part of enjoying anime is the music that goes along with it, just like in any other TV shows or movies. It sets the mood of the piece you're watching. Escaflowne's music did a good job sounding majestic and glorious, and it fit the series nicely. Noir has a more modern sound, but with very classical themes, which is something I love. If you've never heard Salva Nos you're missing out in a huge way.

My abosulte favorite anime song would have to be "Sadame" (destiny) from X. Great song. Second would have to be "War of the Last Wolves" from the Kenshin OAV. Series has some good music too. And I don't know why, but I like the opening and closing credits for Mahoromatic.
The sword, it thirsts to drink of man,
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.
