Has anybody Noticed that Rurouni Kenshin and Triguns themes are the same lets look at the similarities

1.Both are people who use to kill and now have sworn never to kill again
2.Both swore to protect people
3.Both are goofy and at the right times they become serious.
4.Both are famous because of the fact that they used to kill.
5.Both try to conciel their true identities.

The only real diffrences are that kenshin uses a sword and vash uses a gun. ANd kenshin is in japan and vash is in the west.

In the anime, he never even killed through that. (I forget if he did in the manga, I'll check that eventually)

Well...if you want to get technical, by failing to act, Vash's hands are pretty stained with blood...
His failure to kill Knives was what, instead, doomed several towns to their deaths. He knew the risk Knives posed, and the fact he let him continue in the first place, to me, counts, albeit inadvertently, as kills on his part.

...plus, isn't he still tech. the one to off Legato...even though, again, he didn't want to.

Did you just say Vash has killed on the basis that he didn't kill?

And yes, I suppose you are right about that last part, but thety said used to kill. As far as past actions, the closest Vash came to actually killing anyone was in Trigun Maximum (book 7)
After discovering Tessla, the first Plant to be born as Vash and Knives were, and discovering the experimentation that was preformed on her, Vash goes into a deep state of depression, lashing out at Rem, then Vash, who now hates all humans, seeing them as evil (and suspect Rem of wanting to continue what they started with Tessla on Vash and Knives), lunges for a knife to commit suicide, so he won't have to go through the atrocities that Tessla did (or so he wouldn't have to live with humans), where upon Rem grabed the knife, saving Vash. But then Vash twists the blade in Rem's hand and lunges it into Rem, smiling. Soon Vash does begin regretting this though, and , while crying, takes Rem to the med room. This is where Rem gives Vash the blank ticket talk.

Knives had suppressed the memory of seeing Tessla's remains/body parts/floating brain

yeah but vash never use to kill on purpose. And he wasn't famous for killing per say but more for destroying that city and having a bounty on his head. I dont think neither concealed their true identities. But yeah both have similar concepts - dude with a past must face it again. But there stories are completely different. Vash is some sorta super human alien for godsake.

Vash isn't an alien, he's just not human. He's indirectly man-made.

It can also be said that Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria, making him an alien too. It's only an alien if it's it's not in it's birth place. Everyone on board of the ship are aliens since none of them are native to the planet.
