YGO Fans here?

Well if you didnt notice for my pic, I am Yami no Yuugi Fan and I love Yu Jyo Anime (Yu Gi Oh Original Version from Japan) , who likes Yu Jyo or Yu Gi Oh here?

It is "Gi" not "Jyi," first; and yeah, Yugioh was pretty decent. For being one of the first, if not first, game-based anime, it's surpirsingly still the best. Most likely that's because it diverges away from the games often and goes heavily into character development.

When I say game-based anime, I don't mean like Final Fantasy or Pokemon - animes based on games - I mean shows that focus on PLAYING games; most are just piece-of-crap marketing ploys; Yugioh however, had games based off of IT, not the other way around, so it primarily just became an Action anime like Fist of the North Star or Dragonball Z. Instead of muscle-bound bruisers smacking each other around with their fists, however, it used heavy spell-casting effects, like bringing cards to life or Mind Crushing people every so often; needless to say, while not hodling out on the 'splosion, it showed that brains backing up power is much more devastating than brute force alone; in other words, took a much more intellectual stab at combat than straight-out power.

Now this Yugioh-GX business: now that they've started getting into this new thing, the Emporer God Cards, it seems to be getting better. By that, I mean more serious like the orginal show and less like "Duel Masters with Yu-Gi-OH! TCG cards." I still have a big grudge against it, but at least now it's not like "Oh hey, let's duel for no reason!" and more along the lines of its predecessor - "You duel me and MAYBE keep your life, or I just kill you now and be done with it."

The one thing that Yugioh Duel Masters had over most animes 4Kids has done: there's so much rampant, necessary violence, it was almost impossible to edit it to death. Not to say they didn't try, but it's definitely the darkest, and best, of their dubs... now if only One Piece could've been the same way.

I also like Yu-Gi-Oh. I have not been able to watch it much though cause it is on when I am riding on Saturdays or when I am in class. I am also learning to play the card game right now. My favorite characters are Seto Kaiba and Mokuba.
