You also misspelled 'i am' as 'iam', 'know' as 'no', 'anyways' as 'any ways', 'writer's' as 'writers', then I don't know how to spell appreciate.... Wait...

ANYWAY, uhm, if you REALLY wanted good ideas for yaoi crap, head on over to Y!Gallery. I'm sure there's a forum or five thousand over thar. It's filled to the brim with rabid yaoi fangirls.

Is it against the rules of the yaoi universe for men to actually look like men and not like flatchested anorexic dickgirls? I'm asking that as a serious question and not as a jab/insult to yaoi. I'm constantly told when I whip out art of men who look like men that it's not yaoi and it's gross...but then pull out a sparkly image of InuYasha hammering his brother in a poodle skirt and suddenly it's a great yaoi masterpiece.

Yeah I know that's a little off topic but I thought this would be a good opportunity to ask it since I couldn't answer the first post without knowing prior anyway.

There are a lot of stupid 16-year-old fans of yaoi who wouldn't know a real man if he whacked her upside the head. They tend toward rigid gender roles and ultra-feminized ukes, and half of them IME will come out as lesbians by the time they hit 25.

But anyway, yes, it's not all that crap. Though you may not want to watch stuff like that, look up some info on some older titles, like Zetsuai, and Ai no Kusabi, and FAKE. (ahh, FAKE, my favorite manga guilty pleasure.) The old-school animation style lent itself to a different aesthetic. There's a market for m/m that involves, you know, m, but it tends not to be made up of yappy children.

Besides, the actual series are not the same as crappy internet fanart. Some is also fluffy (hello, Gravi), but tends not to be quite as extreme in its aesthetic.

er yaoi is good cuz id yaoi.... and no not all yaoi has a kinda manly guy and a girly man in it all of the time. there is a series called fake that has guys that look like normal guys er kinda except that they are anime but the whole point is that they all dont have that stereo type like in gravi or in other famous yaoi.
