Yeah, I got a copy today... The dub was actually pretty good, the only voice I couldn't stand was Rachael Leigh Cook's Tifa. Ugh. She's an awesome actress, and definitely as hot as Tifa, but her voice was not Tifa at all.
Extras weren't too bad, was expecting a bit more from it, but not too bad though. Dirge of Cerberus looks orgasmic.

Elation. Rapture. I am so happy. I preferred the Japanese to some of the English, but I adore the movie overall. Or maybe that's just the 3-year long build-up speaking. Either way, I loved it. Anyone watch the deleted scenes?

I have the original Japanese DVD so i've seen it a while back, but i'd like to see the English version. I'm surprised to hear that the voices seemed to work. From reading who the actor/esses were for the voices, and trying to match the voice up with the character, it just didn't seem to work, especially Christy Carlson Romano as Yuffie.. > > (or however you spell her name)

Christy Carlson Romano already played the voice of Yuffie before she did Advent Children. She did a real good job in Kingdom Hearts as Yuffie, so I expected her to sound the same in FF7AC.Yunacat wrote:From reading who the actor/esses were for the voices, and trying to match the voice up with the character, it just didn't seem to work, especially Christy Carlson Romano as Yuffie.. > > (or however you spell her name)

Um, yeah... Advent Children is the single greatest creation made by mankind. Only... well, God could make abetter movie. I really hope that Square-Enix has plans to make more movie like this, anyone else wanna see one with Squall in it? Or, hell, they could even make an anime, like some of the clips from Before Crisis... that'd be awsome.
Note: I also think that Tifa's voice was pretty good, but i could see how it was kinda off.
... and yes, yes she was very, VERY hot!

The dub was good, though I felt like some lines were said in the wrong tone, but they just decided to go with it. The prime example of this that sticks in my mind is when Loz says "Where's mother?" to Cloud on the motor cycle. I think all in all all the voice actors did a splendid job though.
The movie itself is nothing short of awesome. I saw it fansubbed back in September and then bought the US release on Tuesday, when it hit the shelves. The American DVD, however, is mega dissapointing in comparison to the Japanese version. No Last Order (the 30 minute anime adaptation of the Reactor Mission from Cloud's past), no DVD resolution FFVII FMVs, none of the bonus bundled merchandise, and a really sad excuse for a summarization video of FFVII that was less than great quality and used the Japanese version of the game and English subtitles for the Japanese text dialogue that looks like someone threw it together with a capture card and windows movie maker in an hour...and this thing is labeled as a Special Edition?
Ah well, atleast we got all the studio trailers, deleted scenes, and (attempted) previews of other upcoming FFVII titles...that ended up featuring clips from Last Order. I was suprised that we actually got those.
