Uncut One Piece?
Does anyone know if they are planning to have uncut One Piece DVDs? They're doing it with Naruto but I can't find anything about One Piece, is it doomed to be treated the same way as Pokemon? I haven't watched much of the series myself but it looked pretty good from the 3 episodes I saw.

Re: Uncut One Piece?
There's a difference...Naruto was licensed by ShoPro/VIZ, One Piece was licensed by 4Kids. 4Kids attempted to realese uncut version of Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh, with help from FUNimation, but they cut both of those projects. Accept it, chances are we'll never see an English version of the One Piece we all know and love.OzzieArcane wrote:Does anyone know if they are planning to have uncut One Piece DVDs? They did? Damn, I was hoping Funimation was going to get the rights to the uncut sub from 4Kids like they did with those two.HyperTails wrote: 4Kids attempted to realese uncut version of Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh, with help from FUNimation, but they cut both of those projects.

Doing any sort of uncut One Piece would not only be admitting that 4kids were way off base in their marketing of the series (something they'd rather go bankrupt than do) and would require an enormous amount of work for the voice "actors" (quotes imply contempt and sarcasm) because of the enormous amount of stuff they cut out. Also, if the true content of the series was released on DVD and the parents of the 6 year olds that watch the dub bought it... oh damn would there be a frenzy! ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

But they have realeased uncut Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King, and OP is in their plans as well, but all the uncut stuff has been delayed.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Doing any sort of uncut One Piece would not only be admitting that 4kids were way off base in their marketing of the series (something they'd rather go bankrupt than do) and would require an enormous amount of work for the voice "actors" (quotes imply contempt and sarcasm) because of the enormous amount of stuff they cut out.
