Where do I buy anime?
Sounds like a stupid question, but let me fill you in on the background. I live in the only shitty state in the United States where my local mall has not only closed down the ONLY Suncoast Video, but also the Sam Goody (who eliminated half of the anime from Suncoast Video's leftover stockpile, and concentrated more on selling crappy anime merchandise).
About my best option is Best Buy, but they don't even sell Full Metal Panic anymore! Apparently the idiot sales representatives told me "Best Buy's no longer stocking it AT ALL!" Great, so they can sell "Airwolf" and "Knight Rider", seasons 3 and 4 (which are the better seasons anyway), but they won't sell the one series I want to get my hands on.
And while I could order online, I will soon no longer have a permanent address (parents are literally going pirate, and selling the house within a month to live full time on the river, and depending if I get hired by the FBI as I hope for, I could end up ANYWHERE!).
Suggestions?

True, but again, that would require a shipping address, which I won't have soon. I'm looking for any ideas people have for places that would sell anime over the counter, or is that just getting too old-fashioned?oceanangel2you wrote:If you have access to credit, ebay is one of the best places for games and dvd's and things like that, you can get some really good deals on there :D

Maybe this is why I don't want to order online. The Origonal Head Hunter wrote:hit the nail on the head.Toecutter wrote:True, but again, that would require a shipping address, which I won't have soon. What does that have to do with ordering stuff online?Toecutter wrote:Maybe this is why I don't want to order online.
Seriously, online is the easiest and best way to get anime. eBay is god for anime and video games at really low prices. Alot of anime isn't even availible in stores anyway.

Ebay is safe I have been using for a long time buying and selling, just do not respond to any emails saying they are ebay requesting you to update your account, those are credit frauds, as ebay does not send out emails like that, the same goes for internet banking.
The only other option I can think of is a local trading post, like classifieds, you will sometimes find people selling games and dvd's that way, but it is still not as effective as the internet, ebay items usually arive very quickly, but you could always consider a post office box for short term and you can always have your mail redirected when you move

You could always try the stores of the liscensing companies themselves. ADV, for instance, seems to have a sale going every month.
Alternatively, there are many discount anime places on the net. They're suggested quite frequently if you bother to look around a bit.
