What is the BEST comedy anime series???

Im having a dillema. Im looking for a HILARIOUS anime series
that I could watch with my boyfriend or with friends. (Basically a
funny show that isn't "girlie" although if its super funny it wouldnt matter)

I recently bought Azumanga Daioh thinking it was super funny because
its in the top 10 on animenfo.. but I hated it! It was so lame... I hated
the stale, dry humor and the scene dragging...

So what do you think?

I love anime like Jubei-Chan, Demon Fighter Kocho, Ah! My Goddess,
Full Metal Alchemist, Kenshin, etc etc (just to give you a jist of what I like)

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is pretty funny, as is Fullmetal Panic? Fumoffu. Of course, watching Fullmetal Panic! before you watch Fumoffu helps, and its pretty funny in places as well. It's just not non-stop comedy like Fumoffu is.

Abenobashi was really good, and I highly recommend it as well, though I still think Excel Saga has it beat.
