Why the heck was this lincensed???

What are some of the titles that you have clue why anyone would want to lincense them?

A few I can think of no reason anyone would want to lincense them let alone think they'd actually sell any copies are:

Garzey's Wing: Horrible animation, dumb story, characters you could care less about.

Wild Cardz: They must of got a VERY good deal to release this series in the US cause it's one of the worst things I've ever seen. I don't know who thought it'd be a good idea to lincense this in the US and I would really like to know why. They must of only paid $10 for the lincense and said what the hell... we'll cover that in the 100 DVD's we'll sell of this series in the US.

only one I can think of off the top of my head is Geisters.

I couldn't force myself to watch one episode (luckily, my friend bought it instead of me...but I'm sorry that he had to waste his money)

it's visual rape...it really is. at first, you think it'l be okay...then you hit a fight scene. In that fight scene is a 3d-CG monster...and it's fighting 2d characters/mechs (i don't remember which it is).

the only CG is that monster, and oh yeah...the story sucks too

elf princess rane...they never finished. as with fight for the sword and the awesome and yet undone "gestalt"...while it was awesome it was still undone...

Debutante Detective Corps. Not even laughably bad, just incredibly mediocre. Guess I shouldn't have expected much for $4, but still. The fact that stuff like this gets licensed while Kanon goes four years and counting without being brought over makes me sad.

Prince of Tennis. It wasn't bad but everyone seemed to think it wouldn't ever be liscensed due to the length and the subject matter. Even the main group fansubbing took it's time releasing the last few eps because they never thought it would be liscensed and therefore assumed they had all the time in the world.

But those series have boobies, and those sell well, right?

For me, it's Bobo-bo being licensed. Hell, the fact it'll be on Toonami completely threw me off the loop. And I'm really surprised it's actually doing fairly well.

I even remember Shounen Jump saying themselves they didn't think it'd ever be brought to the US. Haha. But here it is.

Pilot Candidate/Candidate for Goddess/Megami Kouhosei whatever you wanna call it. It's not done. Yet, it was on Toonami several years back. Also, I was surprised that Whistle! got liscened. I just didn't expect that.
