Berserk OVA
Just a simple question, does Berserk have any OVA? I refuse to believe that there isn't more to the show after the final episode. Or if any body has read the manga, what happened after... well you know.

The Series is great, but the manga is better. The manga does continue the story. Oh and the manga goes over the the TV series as well
YOU MUST BUY THEM ALL TO UNDERSTAND THIS GREAT SERIES NOT JUST THE MANGA AFTER.
The manga goes into a lot more details that the series left out
like
1.History of Midgar
2.Who Skull Knight is and how he came to be.
3.What other characters, other than then main character's live beyond the end of the series. (I am being conspicuous if you read the manga you'll understand.)
4.How the main character's make it out of there.
5.More on Guts' Past (Donovan)
6.And Much Much More
READ THE MANGA.
They have up to 14 out right now, and I believe there is going to be 22-24 books
Also if you are interested there is the Berserk Video Games
Dreamcast: Berserk Guts' Rage (Takes place after the TV Series and is what got me into Berserk. Don't worry it was released in the US)
PS2: Berserk (That is the name of the game. Not released to the US, but I spent 80 dollars on the one from Japan. Now I have to beat it and try and figure out what the F*ck they are saying.)
You'll really enjoy the Manga, just the translation and language sucks. They didn't have ain't back then. The TV series has much more beautiful language
EXAMPLE: SPOILER (English Dub and Translation)
TV: Guts is facing Zodd for the first time and when he leaves he says to Guts these last words: "I will leave you with this little bit of advice or for tell your doom. If you think this man your friend... Then know this: When you regard what another is brother, and this man's ambition crumbles, it is your destiny to face your death. You cannot escape your fate!"
MANGA: Same Scene: Zodd says, "Here's a word of warning... No a prophecy. If you can be said to be a true friend of this man then take heed when his ambition collapses death will pay you a visit. A death you can never escape."
Really that is not a powerful as the TV Series. Same with a lot of places I just remember than one the best. I am an English Major so stuff like this gets to me. (I know someone will eventually harp on my spelling and grammar.)

The only problem with reading the manga, is either A) What library would actually bother to add this sort of material to their catalog, I'd bet the price of one book mine wouldn't, or B) That's a hell of a lot of money for a story and pictures, to read, what, once?Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:READ THE MANGA.

They sell around $13 with tax and shipping $18 maybe. Total 18X24=$243 at the most!Orwell wrote:The only problem with reading the manga, is either A) What library would actually bother to add this sort of material to their catalog, I'd bet the price of one book mine wouldn't, or B) That's a hell of a lot of money for a story and pictures, to read, what, once?Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:READ THE MANGA.

Yet still
Since when has anime been cheap?
Berserk is worth every cent I have. It is my favorite series, and I bought all the dvds individually, and wanted to get a box to put them in. So, I spent 30 dollars for just some cardboard. But that is because I love berserk so much. I also bout the brick box set, so I could have that as well. Trust me Berserk is worth every penny it sells at if not more, and I am willing to pay!
And once again, since when was anime ever cheap? Haven't you seen that wallet? "ANIME! Crack is cheaper!"

Er, a bit of numerical dyslexia there? Don't you mean 432? And anime is cheap when you buy it long after it came out. I can't think of a single series I've bought that hasn't been out at least one year, and then it was probably on sale. I bought berserk the tv series, but that has value beyond the one use. AMVs. If I didn't delude myself into thinking I might edit something, I'd probably own very few animes.Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:They sell around $13 with tax and shipping $18 maybe.
