Final Fantasy: Last Order

Who all's seen it? What'd ya think?

For such a short project, I was very impressed. In the game FFVII, I was torn between deciding whether Zack was a really cool character who was underutilized or a somewhat worthless side character in Cloud's backstory (despite the relation it has to my usernam here, but I digress). The showing of the other Turk(?) characters even tempted me to try to get my hands on the FF cellphone game just to get to actually see them in action. Though it's too short to say it's a "movie," it's still a must-watch for diehard FFVII fans imo.

Discussion topics like these tend to get off-topic and locked rather quick. BUT WILL I IGNORE AN OPPURTUNITY TO PRAISE ZACK? Goodness no.

Last Order did bring me into the whole FFVII fandom. I'll admit, Advent Children peaked my interest, but it wasn't until I caught more of the story with Last Order that Fullmetal Alchemist got kicked out of Take's Obsession section in my brain. And then all the research involved grabbing everything out of the storyline I could. I'm curious to see the story in Crisis Core, as well. Lord knows Squeenix will torture us with the last level being along the lines of "drag Cloudy to safety while fighting off ShinRa grunts" and a tear-jerking cinematic ending.

That, and the animation is goregous >.< Squeenix had a good thing going. The fight between Zack and Sephiroth was wonderfully done. Granted, Seph's expressions here and there are a tid bit creepy, but hey, insanity does that to the best of us. All the characters were beautifully animated. My only complaint, it was way too short. And the end.

They should totally animate the entire FFVII story into a long-running anime series.

And Zack/Cloud is so canon.

Omg, my nipples are hard just thinking about it. J/k, but seriously, there are as many if not more fans that would jump all over this as there would be for more Cowboy Bebop/Trigun/Berserk episodes. As of yet, Squeenix has done pretty much everything but that. I mean seriously...hard nipples.

This sounds pretty good. Can't wait to see it. I wonder if they will release a new UMD version with Last Order...

Well, I'll stop looking at this thread so you all are free to spoil away. ^_~

it was alright. the way they told the story was "meh." but the fight scene animations were well done.

Last Order is mainly eye-candy for me, but it's gorgeous eye-candy. There were some great action sequences in there.

Nothing beats the original game. I'm still waiting for Squareenix to develop the stones to make a movie out of the original plotline. It could definetely use some finessing, but it's all there just waiting to be a great film.

The only thing I don't get is why Sony didn’t include Last Order with Advent like they did in Japan. They didn’t even do an English version yet. Which is very surprising.

When is that supposed to come out? I read The 20th of February but they haven't even picked voice actors for Last Order. Unless they decide to be lazy and just leave it with subs.
