Anime where heads explode...

Um, I'm looking for footage of people's heads exploding...

For uh... an amv... heh.

Preferably drawn close to the style of the Melancholy of Harhui Suzumiya, although its totally not necessary.

but... Haruhi-style? Elfen Lied would be the only close one I could suggest.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I was going to try to edit the head itself into a scene(hence the "preferably drawn similarly"), but cutting to a totally different scene where the head explodes would work just as well I assume (and it'd be a lot less work, heh).

Perhaps you should check out Battle Angel Alita. I haven't actually seen the anime, but if it's anything like the manga there should be plenty of exploding heads. (Too bad it's anime you're looking for. I can think of plenty of manga with exploding head scenes. Oh well.)

Easier to draw an exploding head once than the times needed to have it being animated I guess, thanks for the suggestion though!

In Ghost in the Shell there are a couple people who have their heads explode after being shot. Don't really know if that helps and the anime style id distinctly different, but what the hey its another idea

I'm not sure if it's really usable as exploding head footage: 撲殺天使ドクロちゃん (Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan - Club-To-Death Angel Dokuro-chan).
