Lighthearted Anime... Recommendations?

Post by inuhikarifan » Sat Aug 04, 2007 12:15 am

Hi, I'm back again... looking for something a little more fun and... fluffy... I mean, some drama is okay but everything we've downloaded lately has been serious and... time for a change!

So, anything unserious but not ridiculous to the point of stupidity and NOT ECCHI!!!

Thanks! :)

Hmm..

For Fun: Angelic Layer, Excel Saga or Cardcaptor Sakura (NOT CARDCAPTORS)

Each has a little drama, but not enough to take away from the overall story.

Oh, and pirating anime over the internet is not approved here, so please purchase the DVDs and support the anime industy.

Bottle Fairies for sweet Fluffy.

Midori Days can be fun, with a little drama.

I thought Irresponsible Captain Tylor was not too serious and kind of fun to watch, but I haven't seen it in some time.

Trouble Chocolate has very little drama, and the dramatics can be overly done.

Hare+Guu is terribly fun.

"Dunno, I was probably asleep when you said it."

I highly recommend Kamichu!. The DVD's are available and the boxset is coming soon. Must see :!:

I also recommend Seven of Seven. And heck it's cheap! Nothing amazing, but simple and fun. (It's where I made my avatar from ^_^!)

Right, silly, light, fluffy, no ecchi....my favorite genre.

All-purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku is fun and silly.

Lost Universe--one of the Slayers family, in space. Doesn't get serious till near the very end. (Slayers itself probably goes without saying.)

Tsukikage Ran is a fun female-samurai comedy with no story arc--only one episode has any major heavy stuff.

The Cat Returns is a blast, if you haven't seen it.

Catnapped is also fun, though a bit on the young side.

(The heavy cat influence is PURE weird coincidence, here.)

I'm assuming you already saw Azumanga Daioh.

Rune Soldier is light on the ecchi, heavy on the slapstick, and pretty funny.

I haven't seen the entire series, but based on first discs, Kamichu, Zatch-Bell and Ghost Stories might all fit the bill.

If you want a manga recommendation, check out Yotsubato&, also.
