Love Hina Question

In the first episode of Love Hina, Keitaro is in the hot springs, and Naru joins him. Of course, without her glasses, she doesn't realize that Kei is a stranger to her, and mistakes him for Kitsune. Then she moves closer to him, and finds out that she's a man when she puts her hand down there. Now, I understand that she would know he was a guy, but if that was Kitsune, like Naru thought it was, why the hell was she putting her hand there? She wasn't checking to make sure if it was Kitsune or not...

she just put her hand there to get a better look without her glasses but cause it was kei something was there and she knew it was a guy

She never wears her glasses in the hot springs. I mean, I could see if she had her hand on her leg, but come on.

its quite obvious that she was simply moving closer to kitsune and when she anchored here hand there she noticed that he wasn't kitsune

probably just slipped accidentally.. and I imagine there was somethin' pokey down there considering Keitaro just noticed a towel-clad woman hop in the bath with him. (In the manga, she's nude rather than towel-clad)

the tokyopop release was dialogued a bit differently but it was the same thing basically
