Can't Remember Anime please help

Oki i think i wazz twelveishh and i was watching adult swim and this cool anime came up..it wass about like space and mechs and this kid like signed up and he had a partner who had animal like "ears" and she was wearing a hat and she didnt want him to see it and the hat ended up falling and she ran away crying...i don't know the name of the anime.

p.s: when the anime intro started it had a hot anime girl with ENORMOUS white hair inside a mech.
