While certain categories would be really fun...have you thought about judging them? With the best "Other" category, you can at least attempt to pull it off due to the fact that it's got a category marker in the vid description.

But something like "Best Mindfuck" or "Most Perverted"....while, yes...we do go through and nominate each video to each category...there is a lot to take into account here...

1. You think certain people won't just select their bestest buddies video because they can? Even though it has nothing to do with the category?

2. Subjective opinion. While some moron may claim that watching Ichigo from Bleach turn into his hollow form or whatever the shit that's called is the biggest mindfuck in the world, you KNOW that people would be debating that shit to the very end >.>

3. I think we've all seen instances of videos not fitting the category winning...I'm too damn lazy to look up the year/video, but I distinctly remember people bitching and moaning about a video with effects winning the "No Effects" category. God knows there are more examples but as I said, I'm lazy.

So while certain categories would be good times...keep in mind, the voting process. Provide a valid argument on how that aspect would go and I think we'll be in business

(This of course is for people who actually WANT their category and aren't spouting of the first random bullshit that comes to mind If you are one of the bullshit people...carry on )

Yes. But at least we have a bit more of a filter concerning things like action and drama...considering that they actually have category selection due to the video entry that makes things a bit less of a clusterfuck. Unless you think it'd be a good idea to add "tits and mindfucking" to the catalog entry capabilities + the ability to alter your video entry to select said category, JUST for the purpose of the VCAs?

When you have a category with a specific theme it makes sense to have a pre-filter before voting. Otherwise every single category becomes "Video of the Year" in a sense...

*Waits for someone who agrees with the idea of adding Tits and Mindfucking as a category...I know how you people work

Well, then we're stuck with all the categories we have (self selected) check boxes for and that's it. full stop. That's kinda short sighted. It's only a small step to "who cares, i'm not participating in this farce" if you want to go that way. You've already saw the emperor's naked, just takes shouting it out at this point...

In the end, I was just trying to suggest that people put a bit more thought into what they're submitting for category ideas.

But personally, I kinda like Kisanzi's take on this (as he just walked by me making gibberish noises)
