Actual serious question. I'm helping explain the rules to someone who is not a native english speaker and they asked me this:
At one point you mention 12 sources are required. Later you mention 5 sources given to you for the match. Clarify this please. Are you going to ask for a master list of 12 sources, then they must choose 5 from that list per match? Or were you just saying, basically, don't pick the same five sources every round?

It's not an official like, we have to spell out 12 different sources thing, or at least it hasn't been in the past. It's basically just since you aren't supposed to reuse sources you'll need 12 theoretically if you were to make it to the final round to have enough for each round.

The 12 source thing means, if you progress through the tournament, you'll need a new source to take the place of the one you used in the previous round, because you can't use the same source twice. As the tournament progresses, the rules for how sources are selected will be changing slightly. To be totally honest, 12 is a total guess because I might end up adjusting how the rules for each round goes when it comes to it. Basically as long as you have access to a wide variety of sources then you'll be fine. I do not need a master list at any point. I hope that clarifies things.

Re: The Online AMV Iron Chef Tournament v4.0 - OFFICIAL RULE
In the case of TMoSH (first season), is "consecutive" understood to be in the broadcast (Kyon) order or the chronological (Haruhi) order that was used for the non-L.E. DVD releases?Brad wrote:So, when I say consecutive episodes, I hope you understand what that means. Let’s say that Sam wants one of his sources to be Cowboy Bebop. He would need to pick episodes 1-5, 4-8, 17-21, etc. and NOT, episodes 3, 9, 11, 17, & 25. This again helps us keep it similar to the single-DVD-only solution. So I don’t care where in the series you pull from, but they’ve gotta be consecutive back-to-back episodes.

Uuuummmm... I'd say in the case of Haruhi, pick an order, which ever one you prefer, and if you decide to use Haruhi again, you have to stick to the order you chose the first time. I can't think of any other example where that's really an issue (but if you can think of any, let me know)
