hmm, some research (and reading on the otakon boards) says that most of the places in the harbor are under rennovation or not the type to stay open late...would one of the baltimore (semi-)natives be up for looking around seeing where to go?

I'd be up for something Thursday night. Definitely have to make the workshop a must, and the contest is pretty much a given, natch. ;)

I'm not a Baltimore native or anything but I mean be able to convince my friend into taking me up there. If I do I'll let you know what I see. Otherwise, dunno. I was there about 2 months ago and everything seemed okay.

The con schedule's now online at:

http://www.otakon.com/happenings_schedule.html

I have to miss the yaoi panel to see my AMV =( However, Anime: 1983 sounds interesting, and may make up for it. Yay oldschool!

Ack! Now I have to decide what all I want to do, and when... I should probably go to the Digital Animation Drawing, but I'd love to go to Drawing 1 as well. And they're both at the same time- that's annoying. Also... I can't remember if this was mentioned before but- there's only one showing of the contest this year? Or is the second in one of the rooms not listed (there have to be more rooms running stuff than just that, right? Only one anime room is listed...)

Ashyukun: Yeah, the AMV contest time listed on the schedule is the main one held in the main events room. Additional screenings will be in one of the video rooms (probably one of the larger ones, I hope).

Man, looking at this schedule, there's a huge amount of conflicting events (for me anyway). Gonna miss the FUNimation panel in favor of AMV contest (well, duh), and I'll have to skip the Cosplay in favor of Scott's fandubbing panel. ;_;
New AMVs: DQCF+P (various Street Fighter) | One Guitar (BECK) | Please Don't Make Me Cry (Paradise Kiss)

The food court in the harbor was under renovation as of the 4th of July weekend. No idea what the situation will be during Otakon.

As for places that are open late, the city kind of dies after 11 PM...you'd be hard up for any type of food. The only place I was able to find after 11 that serves food is Pickle's, but that's a bar, so not all of you could get in...plus it's small, crowded and smokey. It's across the street from the convention center, towards Camden Yards (the Orioles stadium).

The easiest place for a gathering is just in the middle of the damn Skywalk :P
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

We will figure something out. I say John is right, we do it at 10:30 at the pratt lobby (where they are doing pre-reg pickup today)
