I've made costumes for other people (Squall Leonhart, the Wedding Peach battle costume thinger, Xelloss, and what's her name... Mysterious Thief St. Tail - Their choices, not mine ) ...and done fannish costumes for Halloween (one year two friends and I went as White, Black, and Red Mages from Final Fantasy 1).
However... since there are no anime characters I could play without looking really fucking stupid, I've never cosplayed at a con.
Next Otakon my sister wants to borrow my White Mage costume, so I might finish up my Summoner costume to match. (It's a FF5 Summoner, more or less, with a Carbuncle plushie to match.) Maaaaaybe.
Other than that kind of thing where there isn't much of an image to base it on, there's nothing I can do. I love making them, though. It's much more fun than regular sewing stuff. 8)

One day I'd like to see someone cosplay as AfroKen using a real fro.Ashyukun wrote:Heh. I've got a picture of me in the full outfit (mainly just a large apple tree afro, all khacki, and face paint to look like a muzzle) from when I wore it at AXNY around someplace. I should put it up on my site if I can find it

Kodiak and I cosplayed both Friday and Saturday at AWA this year. He was Jet Black, one day in the white apon, the next day as the hippy from the Cowboy Funk episode. I was Wolfwood one day and Seras Victora the next. (My Wolfwood was much better than my Seras by far.)

I love cosplaying. I've even been in two cosplay contests, and one I got an honorable mention for my sewing skills.

I've cosplayed a few times.
Did Lain back in 2002...... nobody at acen got my solo skit then. I loved it.
Reiji Kageyama was acen and otakon 03...... um..... between both conventions grand total of 37 people knew at all who I was. Acen everyone thought I was Victoria Seras from Hellsing.... despite having entirely the wrong outfit.
Up next is Satoka from Gatekeepers 21..... the 4 and a half foot sword is what sold me on her costume. Oh and she sings as she kills stuff.... enough said.
After that I am going to do Rakka from Haibane Renmei. Trying to get the Halo to actually light up..... first episode version where it is entirely taped to her head and stuff.... so cute. Hoping to have her done by Ohayocon.
Let's see..... then after that I am probably doing a costume that is borderline on being legal. Hahaha I suppose it is okay if I have a flesh colored body suit to cover the naughties..... hee hee.
So um..... yeah..... there are people who make amv's who cosplay..... although they are for the most part, fairly different audiences entirely.

I got a few costumes. I have a half-assed Gendo, and I'm currently working on 3 more. One is a random Battle Royale student, one is the new red haired unknown from the new Kingdom Hearts preview, and I'm having a Cactaur suit made for me in the near future. (I told fyrt I would give her pics of the costume when I get it.)

I cosplayed for the first time at AX 2003, even have a couple of pictures;

It was quite interesting to see that side of the anime convention experience. I'm planning on doing it again at AX 2004, just need to replace the wig, and the belt too.

Re: I cosplay
I know of one.. but she's getting out of that whole scene.. because that cosplay scene is all about drama and petty stuff. There are a few out there.Sephiroth wrote:The AMV community is alot friendly then the cosplay community. Cos playing is fun though as along as people don't take it ultra serious. Thats all i have to say about that.
